Comparision of Hades, Pluto, and Osiris

Today I will compare Hades, Pluto, and Osiris.

  • Hades:Hades is the Greek god of the underworld. Unlike most of the other gods he does not live on Olympus. Coincidentally Hades lives in Hades, the land of the dead. His wife is Persephone, goddess of springtime. His symbol is the Helm of Darkness.
  • Pluto:Pluto is the roman god of the underworld. He is the same as Hades. His wife is Proserpina, daughter of Ceres and Jupiter. His father is Saturn.
  • Osiris: Osiris is the Egyptian god of the dead. He is the husband of Isis, the father of Horus, and the son of Ra. He was killed by Set then reincarnated as the god of the dead. Anubis is his helper.

Comparison of Zeus, Jupiter, and Horus

This post will compare Zeus, Jupiter, and Horus.

  • Zeus:Zeus is the father of 7 major gods and many more minor gods. Although he is not the father of all the gods they all address him as father. Zeus is the god of the sky and thunder and his symbols are the thunderbolt, the eagle, the bull, and the oak.

  • Jupiter:Jupiter or Jove is, like Zeus, the deity of the sky and thunder. But he also governed over laws and social order. He is one of the Capitoline Triad along with Juno and Minerva. Thursday was named after him.

  • Horus:Horus is the son of Osiris and Isis. Aside from being king of the gods Horus is the god of the sky, god of war, and god of protection. This is the hieroglyph for Horus:

Comparison of Hera, Juno, and Isis

Today I will compare Hera, Juno, and Isis.
  • HERA: Hera is the Greek deity of marriage, childbirth, and the family. She is the one who keeps the Olympians together. Other than that she is the queen of the gods.
  • JUNO: Juno is the roman equivalent of Hera, but she is not exactly the same. She has the qualities of Hera but is also the patron of soldiers. She and all the other roman gods aren't (unlike what most people think) exactly the same as the Greek gods (they are more warlike). Juno is also the queen of the gods.
  • ISIS: Isis is the Egyptian goddess of magic, motherhood, and fertility.Isis is daughter of Geb and Nut, sister and wife of Osiris, and mother of Horus. Isis is, as mother of Horus, is the king's mother.
